Kabeus Design Manager

Kabeus Design Manager manages the design elements of your P8 solutions giving you both a holistic and detailed view of how each application is configured.

P8 solutions are developed in online, complex applications each specific to the component in which they’re developed. Case Manager, Process Designer, Search Designer, FileNet Enterprise Manager and a multitude of other tools are used to design and manage your solutions. None of them provide you with the tools to know how they relate to each other, or how they may have been configured in the past or in a different system. Design Manager understands the relationships between solution artefacts and knows how to present the information in a readable and usable format.

Core features
  • Extracts, stores and relates configuration information for all P8 components

  • Supports a range of expansion products including Case Manager, eForms, Content Collector and Records Manager

  • Supports older FileNet platforms (eProcess, Content Services and Image Services) as well as multiple versions of current platforms (P8 3.x through P8 5.1)

  • Creates user readable documentation of all systems, on demand

  • Security analysis of all components

  • Configuration documentation of all components

  • Audit analysis of all components

Benefits
  • Promotes agile development by documenting as you go rather than before you start

  • Provides designers with an immediate view of how systems are currently designed, allowing them to understand and extend systems rapidly

  • Provides administrators with information to plan and monitor systems, comparing application promotion and system configuration options

  • Ensures consistent configuration across environments

  • Provides a ‘point in time’ view of a system for audit and security teams

Have you ever tried to compare how your content engine was configured last month in Development, to how it is running today in Production? Have you tried to understand how your WorkplaceXT system was configured in one environment so you can be sure it’s working the same in another, or even just tried to see where each piece of data is used in a Case Management solution? Even if you could find the piece of information, there’s little native ability to know how it relates to other parts of your solution, and therefore what impact there is to making that necessary change.

Design Manager documents all of the components in your system, and the relationships they have with each other, so you can easily understand what you are using, how to extend it, and ensure it’s configured and operating correctly.
